Review by hotel critic
During our recent stay at a cozy hostal in Ubeda, I found a nice balance between luxury and value. Navigating to the hotel was a bit of a challenge with its unclear signage, but once we arrived, the experience improved significantly. After an initial delay in check-in, the owner, Jose Maria, arrived on his bicycle and set the tone for our stay with his warm demeanor. Our room, while on the smaller side, was adequately equipped for a short visit. The air conditioning offered much-needed relief from the heat—something that became a blessing when we returned after long days exploring. The free Wi-Fi was unreliable in our room, but I found a solid connection in the small salon downstairs. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, featuring coffee, fresh rolls, and cheese, which was served early so we could hit the road. the host went above and beyond by providing helpful tips for scenic routes to Granada. This hostal offers a comfortable stay at a reasonable price in a picturesque area. If you're willing to navigate its quirks, it could be just the right choice for budget-conscious travelers.
